Large print Mahjong Solitaire: match the tiles, clear the stack

A stack of big tiles, each with a simple picture: dots, a star, a heart and other shapes. Your job is to take the tiles away two at a time, choosing two that show the same picture. A tile can be taken only when it is free: nothing lies on top of it, and its left side or its right side is open. A free tile has a solid edge, and a blocked tile has a dashed one, so you never have to guess.

Everything is big and plain. Tap a free tile, then tap another free tile with the same picture, and the pair goes. If you tap two that do not match, nothing is lost. There is no clock to beat and no penalty, and Undo takes back as many moves as you like. If the tiles left have no pair to take, Shuffle mixes them up again, and the new arrangement can always be finished.

Three levels

Easy is a small stack of 24 tiles with six easy shapes. Medium has 36 tiles and nine pictures. Hard has 48 tiles, twelve pictures and a taller stack. Every puzzle has been checked so that it can be finished, so a tile that looks stuck will always come free in the end. Take your time: you can look at the whole stack before you tap, and nothing happens until you choose two tiles.

Hints and saving

If you are stuck, press Hint to see two tiles that match, are free, and keep the puzzle finishable. Hints are always your choice, and they only affect the stars you earn: three stars for none, two for one or two, and one for more. The timer counts up, never down, and it can be hidden with Zen Mode. Your progress is saved on your own device after every move, and finishing a puzzle each day builds your streak.

Frequently asked questions

How does Mahjong Solitaire work?
You see a stack of tiles, each with a picture. Take away two tiles that show the same picture. A tile can only be taken when it is free: nothing is on top of it, and its left side or its right side is open. Tap one free tile, then another free tile with the same picture, and the pair disappears. When every tile is gone, you have won.
Which tiles are free?
A free tile has a solid edge. A tile that is blocked has a dashed edge and cannot be chosen yet. Taking away the tiles on top, or beside, a blocked tile makes it free.
Can I get stuck?
Every puzzle can be finished, but a pair you choose may make it harder. Undo takes back as many moves as you like, Shuffle mixes up the tiles that are left (and the new arrangement can always be finished too), and Hint shows a pair that is safe to take.
Is there a clock or a score?
There is a timer that counts up, and you can hide it with Zen Mode. There is no penalty for a wrong tap, and Undo and Shuffle are free. Only hints change the stars you earn.
Is it free, and is my progress saved?
A free Easy Mahjong Solitaire is waiting every day, with no account and no ads. Your moves and your time are saved as you play, so you can close the page and carry on later on the same device.
