Large print Word Groups: sixteen words, four hidden groups

You are shown sixteen words. Hidden among them are four groups of four words that belong together, such as four garden birds, four kinds of cheese or four words that can follow SUN. Tap the four words you think belong together and press Check. A right group moves to the top of your list with its name, and the words left over get easier to sort.

Everything is big and plain. The words are large buttons, a chosen word is shown with a tick as well as a colour, and a wrong guess simply lets you try again. If three of your four words are right, the puzzle tells you that you are one word away. There is no limit on mistakes and no clock to beat.

Three levels

Easy groups are everyday things you can name at a glance. Medium adds word play, such as words that follow or come before another word, or words that mean the same. Hard has trickier groups, including words that hide another word inside them, and a word may seem to fit two groups until you see how all sixteen fit together. Every puzzle has exactly one way to solve it.

Hints and saving

If you are stuck, press Hint once to see the name of one group, and press it again to have that group found for you. Hints are always your choice, and they only affect the stars you earn: three stars for none, two for one or two, and one for more. The timer counts up, never down, and it can be hidden with Zen Mode. Your progress is saved on your own device, so you can stop at any time and carry on later, and finishing a puzzle each day builds your streak.

How does Word Groups work?
You see sixteen words. They fall into four groups of four, and each group has a name, such as “Garden birds” or “Words after SUN”. Tap four words that you think belong together and press Check. A right group moves to the top of your list with its name; a wrong guess just lets you try again.
What does “One word away” mean?
It means three of the four words you chose belong together, and one does not. Put one back and try another word. A wrong guess never costs you anything except the chance to try again.
Is there a clock or a limit on mistakes?
There is a timer that counts up, and you can hide it with Zen Mode. There is no limit on mistakes, so you can take your time.
Can I get a hint?
Yes. Press Hint once to see the name of one group, and press it again to have that group found for you. The Hint button shows how many hints you have used so far, and hints only change the stars you earn, never what you can play.
