About this set

Easter brings together spring, family and a good many cheerful things, and these ten word searches gather the friendliest of them. Look for EGGS and a BASKET, a BUNNY and a CHICK, a LAMB in the meadow, a TULIP and a LILY, a BONNET with a RIBBON, the CHURCH and its BELLS, and a FEAST with the FAMILY. Each page has a big eight by eight grid and six words to find.

The print is large and the pages are uncluttered. The grid letters are 36 point, the word list is 24 point and each word has a tick box. This is the Easy level, so words read only across or down; there are no backwards words and no diagonals. One page is a few minutes of pleasant pencil work, and the puzzles are gentle for children to try alongside you.

The full PDF contains the ten puzzles and an Answers section with every hidden word shaded, and a separate puzzles-only file leaves the answers out for sharing. These pages are good for the Easter table, a spring social or a quiet Saturday before the holiday. The words were chosen to be warm and widely shared, the list is our own, and the pages are free to print.

How to print these puzzles

Open the PDF (or save it) and choose Print. The pages are US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches.
On A4 paper, or if a margin is cut off, choose “Fit to page” (or “Fit”). Otherwise choose “Actual size” or 100 percent, which keeps the type at its full large size.
Choose black and white or grayscale. The puzzles need no color, and it saves ink.
Print one page per sheet. “Multiple pages per sheet” makes the letters small again.
To print only the puzzles, print the puzzles-only file, or in the full file print just the pages before the section called Answers.
